What is the purpose of this study?
The main goal of this study is to develop a more effective treatment for Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS). Participation in this study can also help researchers better understand what causes HS.
Who can join?
You may be able to join if...
- You are an adult age 18 and older
- Have been diagnosed with HS by a doctor
- Have had a new HS boil on your skin in the last 2-3 months
You can't join if...
- You cannot travel to UCSF in San Francisco, California

What will participants be asked to do?
You will be asked to:
- Meet with the study team at UCSF to confirm that you can take part.
- Fill out a survey. It will ask you about your health history and background. It will take about 5 minutes.
- You may donate skin and blood samples. A study clinician may take small samples of your skin at a single study visit to the UCSF Dermatology Clinic.
Will participants be paid?
You will get up to $200 if you take part in this study.
